Will ChatGPT recommend your business this winter?
Your customers are starting to ask ChatGPT and Google's AI where to stay, what to do and which local businesses to use — often before they ever reach a website.
In this practical two-hour workshop, you'll find out what AI currently says about your business, see which competitors it recommends, and learn what you can realistically do to improve your chances of being found and recommended.
You'll work on your own business during the session and leave with your first AI visibility check completed, an improvement ready to use and a simple plan you can repeat yourself.

AI response...
Is your business in the answer?
That's AI visibility. And it's what we'll investigate together on 25 September.
You've spent years trying to get found on Google. Now there's another place customers are deciding who to use.
Search is changing.
Instead of searching Google, opening several websites and comparing the options themselves, people can now ask an AI assistant for an answer.
For a visitor planning a trip to Morzine, that could be:
- “Which Morzine chalet companies are best for families?”
- “Which Geneva to Morzine transfer company should I use?”
- “Recommend a ski school in Morzine for nervous beginners.”
- “Where should a group of 10 stay in Morzine?”
- “What are some good restaurants in Morzine for a family with teenagers?”
And AI can respond with a shortlist of businesses.
The question is: is yours one of them?
AI visibility is about understanding when and how your business appears in those answers — and what you can do to improve your chances of being included.
You don't need to understand AI, SEO, GEO, AEO or any other acronym before you arrive. We'll explain what matters in plain English.
Find out where your business stands
This isn't two hours of slides about the future of AI.
You'll use real questions your customers ask and investigate your own business.
During the morning, you'll start answering questions such as these on the right:
You'll compare what you find with other businesses at your table and start building a picture of what AI visibility looks like in the real world.
- Does AI mention my business when customers ask relevant questions?
- Which competitors does it recommend?
- What does it say about my business — and is it accurate?
- What information can it find about me?
- Are there obvious gaps or things I could improve?
- How can I track this without paying for expensive software?
Your website is only part of the picture
Traditional SEO has taught businesses to think a lot about their own website.
That still matters.
But AI can build its understanding of a business from information across the web — including websites, reviews, directories, articles and other places where businesses are discussed or recommended.
So improving AI visibility isn't simply about adding the words "Morzine ski chalet" to another page on your website.
We'll show you how to start looking at the wider information AI can find about your business, where there may be gaps and what you can realistically influence.
You'll leave knowing where you stand — and what to do next
By the end of the two hours you'll have three practical things you can continue using after the workshop.
Your first AI visibility check
You'll take a real question a customer might ask and see what Google and an AI assistant currently say.
You'll record who appears, what is said about your business and your competitors, anything that's inaccurate or missing, and what you can't yet conclude from one check.
This gives you a baseline you can come back to.
One improvement ready to use
You'll choose a real customer question and look at how well the information currently available about your business answers it.
Then you'll create an improvement using knowledge only you have about your business.
If you're able to update your website yourself, you may be able to publish it during the session. If somebody else manages your site, you'll leave with something you can brief them to change.
A simple 30-day plan
You'll decide which customer questions matter most, where to check them, what to improve and when to check again.
The aim isn't to give you another marketing job that takes hours every week.
Your ongoing check should take around ten minutes a week.
You'll also take away three simple worksheets that you can reuse without us.
Is AI helping customers find you this winter?
With winter approaching, businesses around Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz are already working hard to attract customers for the coming season.
Websites are being updated. Winter offers are being promoted. Customers are researching and booking their holidays.
But there's now another place where those customers may be deciding who to use: AI.
This workshop gives you the chance to understand how visible your business is when customers ask tools such as ChatGPT and Google's AI for recommendations — and what you can start doing about it before the season begins.
How the two hours work
Short explanations followed by practical work on your own business, in small groups around tables.
1. Understand
How customers are finding businesses through AI
We'll look at how tools such as ChatGPT and Google's AI are changing the way people research businesses.
We'll explain where conventional Google search and AI discovery overlap, where they differ and what this means for a small business.
No jargon required.
2. Check
See what AI says about your business
You'll use a real customer question to carry out your first visibility check.
Who gets recommended? Does your business appear? What does AI say about you? Is it accurate?
You'll record the results and compare what you're seeing with other businesses at your table.
3. Improve
Make something better
You'll choose one opportunity you've uncovered and work on improving the information available about your business.
The aim is to leave with something real rather than a list of things you might do one day.
4. Track
Know what to do next
One AI answer is not a measurement system.
We'll show you a simple way to choose the questions worth tracking, repeat your checks and build a more useful picture over time.
You'll leave with your own 30-day action and monitoring plan.
No magic tricks. No promises to rank #1 in ChatGPT.
AI visibility is new, the platforms change quickly, and AI answers aren't completely predictable.
Nobody can guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend a particular business every time somebody asks a question.
That doesn't mean there's nothing useful you can do.
You can understand what's currently being said about your business. You can identify missing or inaccurate information. You can improve the information available about you. And you can measure what happens over time.
We'll also look at some of the claims currently being made about "AI SEO" and show you how to separate useful advice from things that aren't supported by much evidence.
Our approach is simple: where the evidence is strong, we'll tell you. Where it's uncertain, we'll tell you that too.
Built for business owners, not SEO experts
This workshop is designed for small businesses in and around Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz whose customers find and choose them online.
That might include:
Accommodation · Chalet companies · Transfers · Ski schools · Guides · Restaurants · Shops · Trades · Property businesses · Wellness and clinics · Professional services · Agencies
If you can use a browser and you know the kinds of questions customers ask before they book, buy or request a quote, you're ready.
No technical knowledge, AI expertise or SEO experience is required.
If two of you share responsibility for your website or marketing, you're welcome to bring a colleague and work together.
If you're looking for a deep technical implementation session or an individual website audit, this isn't that.
Bring one question your customers actually ask
The practical work starts with your business.
Before the workshop, think of one question that regularly comes up before somebody books, buys or asks you for a quote.
For example:
- “Do you have chalets suitable for groups of 12?”
- “Can you collect us from Geneva Airport?”
- “Do you teach complete beginners?”
- “Can you provide vegetarian options?”
- “Do you cover properties in Avoriaz?”
Bring that question and your website address.
We'll use them to start investigating what customers — and AI — can currently discover about your business.
What to bring
Bring:
- A charged laptop
- Your website address
- One real customer question
- Somewhere to save notes and screenshots
A free account with an AI assistant is useful but not essential. You can share a screen with somebody at your table if necessary.
You don't need any paid software and you don't need a Ghostart account.
You also don't need to be able to edit your website during the session.
What about Ghostart?
We're not only teaching AI visibility. We're building technology to help businesses manage it.
Ghostart is the AI visibility platform we've been developing to help businesses understand where they appear across AI platforms, identify opportunities to improve and track what changes over time.
During the workshop, you'll learn how to carry out the core process yourself using freely available tools.
Towards the end, we'll also show you Ghostart and how we're using technology to automate some of the work you've just done manually.
There's no requirement to use or buy Ghostart afterwards. The workshop and the method you take away stand on their own.
We're researching this too
AI visibility is developing quickly, and there's still a lot the industry doesn't know.
That's why we're also running Ghostart Labs, our research programme investigating how AI platforms talk about and recommend small businesses.
We're testing questions such as how consistently different AI platforms recommend the same businesses and how those answers change over time.
We'll share some of what we're investigating during the workshop — including the limitations of what can currently be measured.
Meet your trainers
Andrew Seel & Nigel Jay Cooper
Andrew and Nigel are co-founders of The Foundry and Ghostart.
Between them they have more than twenty years' experience in digital marketing and have trained hundreds of professionals through Togethr's award-winning employee advocacy programmes.
Through The Foundry, they work with small businesses to find practical ways of using AI — not just talking about it.
Their first local AI workshop in Morzine sold out, with a second session added the following week. More than 30 local business people have now attended their AI sessions.
What local business owners said about our previous AI workshops
“The workshop really helped me understand what AI can do, and what the different AI tools are good for.”
“I realised just how much AI can help me, even running a small business. It showed me how to get my own knowledge down to train AI on it.”
“It was a great overview of how I can use AI in many ways. It helped me understand how AI could really be used from a one-person business perspective.”
Our first local AI workshop sold out, so we added a second session the following week.

The evidence behind the workshop
There's a lot being claimed about AI visibility at the moment. We don't think you should have to take our word for it.
The workshop draws on research and guidance from the AI platforms themselves as well as independent studies into how AI recommendations behave.
We'll explain the useful findings in plain English during the workshop.
